Prairie Fruit

I recently read a very interesting article in an issue of the Gardener for the Prairies.

The article, by Carissa Halton, was on Fruitscaping.  Part of it was written about Carmine Jewel Sour Cherries, and others, as developed by the University of Saskatchewan.

Carissa also had this FRUIT FACT: Prairie fruit is almost always smaller than commercial varieties and always has a seed or pit.
